Inspired by Poe

I have the honor to be presenting at New York University’s Poe Room for an informative and fun evening of theatrical performance, public reading, and literary analysis on the works of Edgar Allan Poe:

“Inspired by Poe”

Wednesday, March 21
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

NYU Law School at Furman Hall
Room 216
245 Sullivan Street
New York, NY  10012
(Between West 3rd Street and Washington Square South)

First up will be actor Richard Smithies, offering an excerpt from “The Cask of Amontillado.”  Next, I will discuss how pop culture icons such as Lady Gaga can inform ways to teach portrayals of women in Poe’s literature.  Finally, actors LuLu LoLo and Chris Harcum will perform a segment from Quoth The Raven, a one-act play by Dan Evans.

The event is free and open to the public, but you do need photo ID and an RSVP with NYU’s Office of Government and Community Affairs at community.affairs@nyu.edu or 212-998-2400.

“Inspired by Poe” is sponsored by NYU’s Office of Government and Community Affairs and Lois Rakoff, Community Director of the Poe Room.
